Keaton’s Kiddo Tyler continues to make an undeniably HUGE impact on Keaton’s and families living through similar journeys at just 6 years old. This big-hearted cancer warrior stunned us with a very special delivery of over $2,000 worth of toys from their toy drive to fill Hope Chests with joy for other cancer warriors and their siblings, in honor of Brain Cancer Awareness Month in May. Big thanks to Tyler, his family, and other community members for the generous donations, ultimately bringing smiles to our families touched by pediatric cancer who receive one of our Hope Chests.
With Tyler being diagnosed with a Ganglioglioma, a terminal brain tumor, at the young age of 2, the effects of childhood cancer have not been strangers to his family. Taking each day one at a time, Tyler and his family continue to cherish every moment with each other, while also overcoming experiences of isolation and hardships. Upon his diagnosis, Keaton’s team was able to surprise Tyler and his brother and sister, Nick and Avery, each with a Hope Chest filled with personalized items. Hope Chests are one of our initial special touches for our families during such dark times, making the experience with Keaton’s such a memorable one. Tyler’s mom, Katie, recalls “Receiving the Keaton’s Hope Chest, was the first thing that bought our family to smile after Tyler’s MRI that revealed his massive brain tumor and we were sent home from the hospital with the words, go home and enjoy every moment together making memories.”
