Striking Out Kids’ Cancers!
Our gratitude is overflowing for everyone who joined us to Strike Out Kids’ Cancers!
Donations made through this event will provide financial, emotional, and educational support to children with cancer and their families as we strive for no child or family to navigate this journey alone. Together, we will continue to Strike Out Kids’ Cancers!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Join the Keaton’s Family as we focus on the realities of childhood cancer, highlight stories of local families, and advocate for more pediatric cancer research, all while giving HOPE, STRENGTH, and HEALING to our families.
Keaton’s Back-to-School
As a part of our Education, Research & Advocacy Program, Keaton’s hosted our 2nd annual Back-to-School event just in time for the new school year! Kiddos and siblings shared joy and excitement as they picked out a brand-new backpack, lunchbox, and essential school supplies, and put their skills to the test by participating in on-site STEM activities. It was such a great time connecting with so many families and helping them get prepared for an exciting new school year! For those families who couldn’t attend this event, our team of Family Navigators were honored to hand-deliver the backpacks and school supplies knowing how crucial this support is for many families.
Keaton’s Girlfriendz Spa Day
A huge thank you to our new friends at Girlfriendz Spa Day, for hosting a relaxing, joy-filled event just for Keaton’s kiddos, siblings, and special friends!
Kiddos were pampered with a relaxing spa day which included manicures, pedicures, hair art, and makeup, while also enjoying snacks and beverages just for them!
Keaton’s Day at the MOSAC
Our Keaton’s Teen Alliance had a blast exploring the Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC)! Minds were expanded as our teens visited the wonders of science through interactive exhibits, engineering design challenges, and awesome astronomy show.
Keaton’s Día del Arte
In alliance with our community partners, the Latino Leadership Council and Rincón de las Comrades, Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance was honored to host Día del Arte para las Mamas Hispanas y Latinas for our Hispanic/Latino caregivers. Our Bilingual Family Navigator Team organized this special gathering, recognizing that many Hispanic/Latina caregivers in our program have felt isolated and alone throughout their child’s journey.

Welcome 2023 Summer Interns
Join us in welcoming our 2023 summer interns; Jennifer and Zoan. As the number of families that we support continues to rise, having interns provides the opportunity to connect more with families battling childhood cancer. We are honored to host interns that are such a valued part of Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance.
Mind Map Journaling
Journaling is a well known emotional coping tool. It’s helpful for our families to have a place to write down the events of the day, so they can remember important milestones, but also to express their feelings, thoughts, and questions. However, writing in journal form is not for everyone, especially younger kids where writing sentences could be daunting. This is where using the concept of a mind map, often used for brainstorming and planning, can come in.
