Meet Keaton Kiddo ~ Blossom

Meet Blossom. She is two years old and enjoys coloring, playing with toys and her stuffed animals. A single child, Blossom and her mom received the unfortunate news that she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer that affects white blood cells, in May 2021. Having a strong bond with her mom and great surrounding family support, Blossom continues to receive so much love and affection as she continues her battle against childhood cancer. Despite her diagnosis, she remains a strong, spunky little girl and her sweet personality continues to shine through!

Our Family Navigator Team had the pleasure of meeting Blossom and her mom during their Hope Chest Delivery at a local hospital. During the delivery, our team got the opportunity to color, play and see Blossom open her Hope Chest! Blossom and her mom also stopped by our Keaton’s office to pick up their financial grant which will support with transportation to ensure Blossom can safely get to treatment. This sweet girl, and all Keaton Kiddos, continue to touch our hearts and motivate us to keep our mission in motion and stand against pediatric cancer!

Honoring Joy on National Down Syndrome Day

Today, on National Down Syndrome Day, we recognize that children with Down Syndrome are 10 to 20 times more likely to develop leukemia. This unique connection between childhood cancer and Down Syndrome—a reality for many families, including our beloved Keaton’s Kiddo, Joy.

While the focus is understandably on the child battling cancer, siblings face their own emotional challenges. They may experience feelings of worry, fear, confusion, or even guilt, and it’s important to acknowledge their role and provide support for them as well.
