Meet Keaton’s Kiddo Angelee

Meet super sweet Keaton Kiddo Angelee. Angelee is a 7-year-old who enjoys coloring, drawing, and painting. On January 19, 2022, Angelee was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), the most common type of Leukemia (blood cancer) in which too many B-cell Lymphoblasts (immature white blood cells) are found in the bone marrow and blood. Angelee was referred to Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance after her diagnosis, and despite the many barriers she is experiencing, such as side effects from her treatment and adapting to her new “normal,” Angelee stays positive and spends more time creating art as a form of expression.

With the support from her family, Angelee has remained resilient and continues her fight against childhood cancer. Although her family faces many challenges, like frequent commutes and hospitalizations, Angelee’s parents ensure she gets the medical support she needs and manages to commute almost 6 hours round trip, twice a week, to get her to treatment locally in Sacramento.

Through our Travel Solutions Program, our Family Navigator Team was happy to supply Angelee’s parents with gas cards to support with their travel expenses. We also had the pleasure of creating a personalized, joy-filled Hope Chest for her and her 3-years-old sister to remind Angelee and her loved ones that they are not in this fight alone.

Being a primarily Spanish-speaking family. Angelee’s parents have faced hardships understanding and processing her medical treatment. Thanks to the support from our Bilingual Family Navigator, Angelee’s mom feels supported and grateful that she has someone to acknowledge what their family is experiencing.

We are honored to be a support for Angelee and will continue to be throughout her journey.

The Unsung Heroes

Meet Keaton’s Kiddo – Stryder

Meet Keaton’s Kiddo Stryder, a fun-loving 5-year-old who enjoys animals and race cars! At just two years old, Stryder was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that develops from immature nerve cells, and spreads to distant parts of the body. When Stryder was diagnosed, he was just three months away from celebrating his 3rd Birthday. A time that was supposed to be exciting and celebratory turned into a moment of heartbreak, and what began as an ordinary childhood took a dramatic and heart-wrenching turn, turning his and his family’s world upside down.
