Tyler ~ Keaton’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Ambassador

Tyler loves to make new friends and include everyone. He loves water play, singing, dancing, cars, Bel-Air grocery shopping, and community helpers. In 2018, Tyler was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor, called a Ganglioglioma, at 2 years old. From that moment, his family dedicated themselves to enjoying every single moment together and living life to the fullest.

He is on a combo treatment of two Inhibitors and has stable scans for almost two years now. He has continued to impress every doctor that meets him because he can walk, is improving his development of speech, and not to mention not declining in his abilities. When doctors match his brain scans up with him they can’t help but call him a miracle.

“Receiving the Keaton’s Hope Chest, was the first thing that bought our family to smile after Tyler’s MRI that revealed his massive brain tumor and we were sent home from the hospital with the words, ” Go home and enjoy every moment together making memories. We have been to Keaton’s wonderful events for over three years and feel their love for our entire family. No one Fights Alone!”- Katie, Tyler’s Mom

Keaton’s has been so honored to support Tyler and his family from the moment of diagnosis until now. Financial support, gas cards, food cards, groceries, and outreach events have all been provided. Thanks to this support, the family can focus on what is most important, celebrating every special day with Tyler and his two super siblings, Nicholas and Avery.

While the focus is understandably on the child battling cancer, siblings face their own emotional challenges. They may experience feelings of worry, fear, confusion, or even guilt, and it’s important to acknowledge their role and provide support for them as well.
