Meet Matilda. This sweet 5-year-old loves playing with barbies and dolls. The world changed for Matilda on July 1st, 2020, when she was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, stage 2. Also known as nephroblastoma, Wilms Tumor is a common childhood cancer that affects the kidneys.
While childhood cancer has affected Matilda’s life tremendously, her family shared that she has strikingly been the strongest one throughout this journey. She is sweet and resilient. Matilda’s family has been a source of love and support for her. Aside from her immediate family, Matilda’s father has expressed that the emotional support from others, including Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance, has been so appreciated.
Keaton’s team has had the honor to support Matilda’s family throughout this journey by providing gas and food cards, as well as a financial grant. In addition, the team had the pleasure of creating a Hope Chest full of pink and purple goodies for Matilda and her family.
After receiving the Hope Chest, Matilda’s family shared their thanks to the Keaton’s team. “Thank you guys so much for everything. It is all so appreciated. Times are tough but people & programs like this are so amazing. You guys are heaven-sent. Thank you x a million!”
