Nolan is a sweet 7-year-old who loves to swim, play with RC trucks, and play video games.
On June 27, 2023, Nolan was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma, a type of cancer that occurs when healthy B-Cells form in rapid growing cancer cells.
With Nolan’s journey beginning just a couple of months ago, his family has been remaining strong and hopeful while adjusting to their new normal navigating a childhood cancer diagnosis. Despite their many challenges, Nolan’s parents fortunately have a strong support system of family and friends ensuring a strong foundation of love and support. While also having the ability to work remotely, Nolan’s parents remain by side while he undergoes treatment, and commute roughly two hours, round-trip, to ensure Nolan receives the care he needs. Currently, Nolan is in the midst of completing his second round of treatment and receives care once every week. Although his treatments could take on toll on him physically, dad shares that his energy levels are good and Nolan remians a strong warrior!
Shortly after being diagnosed, Nolan’s Hospital Social Worker referred his family to Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance. Over such a short period of team, our Family Navigator’s have had the honor of supporting Nolan’s family through phone calls, general check-ins, and offering customized support services. Being a first touch to their family, Keaton’s team customized a joy-filled Hope Chest filled with special support items for both Nolan and his awesome big sister, Natalie, as well as backpacks and school supplies for each of them as they prepared to go back to school this Fall.
We extend so much gratitude to Nolan’s family for allowing us to be a part of their journey, and look forward to continued check-ins and sharing customized support services, knowing that childhood cancer is a journey that no family should have to fight alone.
