Meet Keaton’s Kiddo – Gurneet

12-year-old Gurneet has been an outstanding fighter, remaining strong, hopeful, and resilient

Gurneet was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on January 7, 2022. Despite being diagnosed during such a pivotal time, she has blossomed into a bright and beautiful teenager, finding her love for volleyball, makeup, nails, and music. Since being referred to our Family Navigator program, our team has shared support to Gurneet and her family in various ways, but most recently, we were honored to join our alliance partners at the Sweet Dreams Foundation, and Bell Bros, in partnership with a Lennox representative, and found unique ways to act as a community and brighten Gurneet’s journey. Supporting the efforts of a dream bedroom makeover, our teams came together, with the support of staff and community volunteers to put together a beautiful space just for Gurneet!

With the support of CREW Sacramento, the Sweet Dreams Foundation made Gurneet’s glamour room vision a reality. In support of Sweet Dreams mission and efforts, our Keaton’s Family Navigators came alongside loving volunteers to help make this dream come true. Our Family Navigators put their skills to the test and had a blast working together to build Gurneet a new dresser. Being a part of something so special and seeing Gurneet’s bright personality shine through in her teen glam room, meant so much to the Keaton’s team.

A huge thank you to Bell Bros and their Lennox representative, for donating parts, pieces, and their skills to repair Gurneet’s AC, ultimately creating a comfortable environment for the family as the days get warmer. Their donation of a cool space could not have come at a better time, as the Sweet Dreams Foundation prepared to surprise Gurneet with a dream bedroom makeover!

While financial support is so vital to a family’s cancer journey, Keaton’s continuously strives to provide emotional support in big and little ways. Whether it is through a check-in call, a personalized Hope Chest, family events, or coming together with community organizations, our mission is to provide love, support, and a sense of normalcy for pediatric cancer families. We appreciate each and every community partner that recognizes the impact that community can have on kiddos like Gurneet. Thank you to all who join us in this fight against childhood cancer!

Meet Keaton’s Kiddo Emily

In honor of Brain Cancer Awareness Month, we’d like to introduce you to Keaton’s Kiddo Emily, a remarkable young fighter who has been part of our Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance family since 2018. “Our journey began in Aug 2018, Emily our 8-year-old was waking up everyday with headaches and throwing up in the morning. After a CT Scan, we were told a MRI was needed as they saw a mass in her brain. Worse fear ever is hearing they found a mass, and you would need to be admitted….
