Meet Keaton’s Kiddo Wyatt

Meet Keaton’s Kiddo Wyatt, a 9-year-old boy who loves video games, drawing, and board games. Wyatt began his journey on December 27th, when he was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma Brain Cancer. Medulloblastoma, the most common type of cancerous brain tumor in children, is a fast-growing cancerous tumor.

Since the date of diagnosis, Wyatt has had brain tumor resection, a brain shunt placed and repositioned, a port placement, and endured a stay of about 4 weeks in the hospital. He has experienced the loss of his hair and the loss of everyday functions, including his site, his ability to walk, as well as being unable to dress and feed himself.

Wyatt began chemotherapy and radiation on January 31st and continued to receive treatments twice a week until March 17th. After this round of treatments, Wyatt will still be attending physical and occupational therapy, before beginning his next treatments of chemo and radiation. This is just a rough breakdown of Wyatt’s journey but proves how much of a fighter he truly is.

Since connecting with Keaton’s, our team has had the pleasure of sharing financial support to help with travel expenses and Joy-Filled Experiences, like a Hope Chest. We had the honor of meeting Wyatt in person during the delivery and saw his contagious smile that can light up a room!

Despite Wyatt’s long journey ahead, our Family Navigator Team is happy to provide additional support and resources to alleviate as much stress as possible as he continues his pediatric cancer journey. This strong, resilient, and sweet kiddo has shown so much perseverance thus far. We look forward to remaining in this fight with Wyatt and his family.

While the focus is understandably on the child battling cancer, siblings face their own emotional challenges. They may experience feelings of worry, fear, confusion, or even guilt, and it’s important to acknowledge their role and provide support for them as well.
