Meet Keaton Kiddo ~ Ryland

Ryland, is 8 months old and was recently diagnosed with Leukemia, a cancer of blood cells and bone marrow, on March 10th, 2020. Ryland is an adorable little kiddo who enjoys watching “Babybum”.

After his diagnosis, Ryland’s family was commuting between Magalia and Sacramento so that he could receive his treatment at UC Davis. During the beginning of his treatment and due to the impact of COVID-19, Ryland’s parents were unable to both be at bedside with him while he was admitted. While mom remained by his side, Ryland’s father continued to commute two hours between Magalia and Sacramento and even rented hotels nearby to be by Ryland’s side. Thankfully, the family is now staying at the Ronald McDonald House while Ryland receives further treatment for the next few weeks!

After connecting with Ryland’s family, the Family Navigator Team has supported the family with a personalized Hope Chest, food cards and Raley’s grocery bag donations. We were also fortunate enough to collaborate with an outside organization, Chicks in Crisis, and support the family with some diapers and wipes donations for Ryland!

Thus far, Ryland has been responding fairly well to treatment and is remaining a strong little fighter!

“As of a few days ago, he is 80% cancer free” – Ryland’s mom, April 28th, 2020

The family has expressed so much gratitude towards Keaton’s and continues to be positive and hopeful! The Family Navigator Team is more than happy to continue connecting with the family during their fight against childhood cancer and throughout their journey!
